Hit-Run Driver Sought After Pedestrian Dies Months After Crash In Maryland: Police

A pedestrian struck in an October hit-and-run in Temple Hills has died from his injuries, the Prince George’s County Police Department announced on Wednesday.

Deon Anthony Smith, 47, who had no fixed address, passed away on Dec. 14, nearly two months after the crash, police said.

Officers were initially called to the 4300 block of St. Barnabas Road on Oct. 17 to investigate a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the area.

According to investigators, a driver struck Smith and fled the scene without stopping. Police are actively working to identify both the driver and the vehicle involved in the incident.

The fatal incident remains under investigation.
